CY Interocean vessels taking on Rosetti Marino project
HTV CY Interocean I and CY Interocean II transported a jacket and topside from Rosetti Marino to offshore Argentina. The transport was carried out in two voyages, one in December 2023 and the other in January 2024. The CY Interocean I and CY Interocean II were the right vessels for the job because of their strength and large decks, measuring 120 by 40 m.
After Rosetti Marino had completed construction of the 1537 mt jacket in December, it was loaded onto the CY Interocean I to be ultimately installed in a water depth of approximately 71 m. The jacket will include the associated infrastructure such as piles, umbilicals, anodes, and pre-installed risers, pipes and facilities for future subsea wells. In addition to their strong decks, it was also the ability of the CY Interocean I and CY Interocean II to operate in shallow waters that made the vessels the perfect choice for this undertaking. As a result, CY Interocean I became the first deck carrier ever to berth at the Rosetti Marino Piomboni shipyard. For the second voyage, the 1385 mt topside was safely loaded onto the CY Interocean II in Januari this year. The topside is a five-level structure covering an area of 2500 square metres and includes a helipad, an upper deck, a main deck containing the wellheads and the instrument room, and a lower deck. The jacket and the topside are designed for the Fenix wellhead, located 60 km off the coast of Tierra del Fuego in southern Argentina. The jacket and four piles for the 4800 mt platform were installed in early January, followed by the lifting and placement of the 1500 mt topside in mid-February. The platform is designed to be operated from shore without the need for a permanent crew.
