Expanding our fleet: a next-generation heavy lift vessel
We continue to invest in the future of heavy lift transport. With the recent order of a new heavy lift vessel, scheduled for delivery in June 2028, we are taking another important step in strengthening our fleet and meeting the growing global demand for complex project cargo solutions.
The new vessel will be a next-generation sister ship to our well-known m/v Happy Star, and will be built at Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore Co., Ltd in China. While maintaining the proven design that has made the m/v Happy Star a success, this newbuild will incorporate a range of technical enhancements and regulatory updates, ensuring it is fully aligned with the latest industry standards.
Designed for maximum flexibility and performance, the vessel will feature tandem lifting capabilities of up to 2,200 metric tonnes. Its full-width weather deck, adjustable tweendeck, and powerful Huisman cranes will enable us to handle increasingly complex and heavy cargoes with precision and efficiency. In addition, its Finnish/Swedish 1A Ice Class certification ensures reliable operations in challenging environments worldwide.
For us, this investment is about more than capacity alone. It reflects our long-term confidence in the heavy lift and project cargo market, and our commitment to continuously pushing the boundaries of what is possible in engineered transport solutions.
