Four Harbour Cranes bound for Italy

BigLift Shipping recently transported four partly assembled mobile Liebherr harbour cranes from Rostock, Germany to three ports in Italy – a complex operation that required precision and teamwork.

The shipment was booked with our esteemed client Kuehne+Nagel, acting on behalf of Liebherr, and carried on m/v Happy Diamond from Rostock to Naples, Bari and Porto Marghera. In close cooperation between the engineers of Liebherr, Kuehne+Nagel and BigLift, the cranes were smoothly loaded, transported and discharged at their destinations.

The cargo consisted of two LHM 550 cranes, each weighing up to 283 metric tonnes with dimensions of 20.70 by 13.30 by 35.75 metres, and two LHM 420 cranes, each weighing up to 244 metric tonnes with dimensions of 20.70 by 14.30 by 32.10 metres. All units were safely handled by the vessel’s crew under the supervision of BigLift’s engineering team.

Every Liebherr crane shipment is unique, and this project once again demonstrated the value of expertise and teamwork in delivering complex cargo safely and efficiently. A big thank you to all parties involved for making this operation a success.
