Dear Reader,
Welcome back, or welcome, to number 41 of our magazine BigNews.
This time we feature some very large cargoes, for which our four HTVs show their worth. Besides, also our HLVs have done excellent jobs and of course, all this could not be done without the dedicated preparation by our technical staff and the crew on board.
Like last year, BigLift Baffin moved a major topside for the Dogger Bank Wind Farm, which is in phase B of their three-phase project in the Northsea.
HTV CY Interocean II carried six enormous HRSG modules of 2500 mt each in two voyages from Korea to Japan.
And there were a number of tight squeezes, in the sense that not much spare space was available, but by planning ahead with thorough engineering these were all smoothly executed. Pijlgracht loaded a 70 metres column in her 71 metres hold, Happy Star twice loaded a CSU on a berth with 5 metres to spare alongside the vessel and 50 metres too short to accommodate her complete length, and Happy River raised her weather deck to take two large LNG tanks to Sturgeon Bay.
We hope you enjoy this set of highlights of the past months.
Safe Sailings!
