Happy Buccaneer, refreshed and repainted

In May our grand old lady Happy Buccaneer sailed to Varna in Bulgaria to be drydocked. Since we foresee that she will remain in service in the near future at least, she was again thoroughly checked over, received a new coat of paint, and was ready to brave the high seas again, to do what she has been doing since 1984: be the most successful heavy lift vessel ever.

Getting together again

After two years of social distancing, more and more social gatherings can be organised again.

In the pre-covid years, we were used to meeting our clients and other associations on a regular basis at exhibitions and the accompanying festivities all over the word. But this all fell away in the last couple of years. And how we missed being in touch on a personal footing: spending time together, building new contacts and meeting them again, talking shop and just having plain fun together. So, we thoroughly enjoyed the Breakbulk exhibition in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, last May. It was wonderful to see so many people again in the booth of the Spliethoff Group and to celebrate a great party with a large group of relations on the SS Rotterdam. We look back on a great time and look forward to the next opportunity to get together again.

All P-Type vessels equipped with scrubbers

We proudly inform that m.v. Pietersgracht is the last P sister to have a scrubber system installed. She drydocked at Tersan Shipyard in Yalova TR earlier this month. All 10 Spliethoff P-type vessels now have scrubbers installed. Another step on the road to sustainable shipping!
